COMMITTEE DESCRIPTIONS
Café Special Events: This committee would organize special groups (jazz bands, choirs, singers) for the Café dining area.
Decorations: Decorates and removes decorations for the show. The majority of the work occurs the week of the show.
Decorator Sponsored Café Tables: This committee would coordinate the various café dining tables by Austin decorators.
Door Prizes: Responsible for organizing door prizes.
Facilities: Organizes the space for the show: measure and tape off booth spaces and run electricity to booths that need it, order tables and tablecloths for vendors who need them. Set up and take down the show.
Holiday Collectible Cookbooks: This committee would create the 1st Holiday Collectibles cookbook featuring the famous HC casseroles, soups, and pies recipes and perhaps other holiday treats.
Hospitality: Provides snacks and drinks for the vendors and volunteers running the show. Keeps hospitality room well-stocked throughout show.
Programs: Produces program given out at the show. Design and layout are decisions made by this computer savvy team.
Publicity: Works within a budget to advertise the event. Banners, flyers, mailers, yard signs, newspaper ads, t-shirts are all a part of the campaign.
Silent Auction: Responsible for gathering silent auction items, making up bid sheets, setting up auction tables for the show, working with the silent auction during show, collecting money and giving items to winning bidders.
Thank you notes: Responsible for recruiting and organizing volunteers to write thank you notes to all our vendors and silent auction donators.
Vendors: Responsible for all correspondence with vendors, choosing vendors, assigning vendors to booths, coordinating with facilities for table and electrical needs, coordinating with silent auction or vendor auction items, checking in vendors and vendor relations.
Volunteers: Organizes all the volunteers for all aspects of the show. All preschool parents are required to work a shift and this committee makes it happen. The majority of the work happens in the month prior to the show and during the week of the show. Signups are now done online so much of this work can be done at home.
